Shinobi - 'Trouble' new video

Check out the new Vid for Sydney rock band Shinobi. The track "TROUBLE" touches on the issue of alcohol abuse, describing how a "quiet drink can quickly turn into TROUBLE"! As well as being a talented musician, front man Eric Grothe Jnr is also a professional rugby league player in the NRL with the Parramatta Eels.

A band forged out of family and mateship, the sound is delivered from brothers Eric (vocals/guitar) and Daniel Grothe (bass), Wayne Langfield (drums) and Darren Stapleton (guitar) and whilst the quartet have jammed together for years it was the definitve natural sound they were forging that led to the almost automatic progression of forming a band and playing regular gigs. It is their thirst for audience reaction to their high octane explosive rock and absolute passion for tearing off heavy guitar driven tracks that provides Shinobi with the means for forcing you to hopefully search for their next show.

Chantelle Barry To Launch Album at FTV Awards

International fashion giant Fashiontv (FTV) has launched the inaugural Diamond Model Awards in Australia. Onyx Bar will host a series of heats, which will culminate with a venue final and official FTV party, featuring celebrity guests, judges, contestants, and more of what has made FTV parties famous around the world.

Hosting the Perth final is Perth-born, LA-based artist Chantelle Barry. As well as having the honour of hosting the awards, Chantelle will also be performing songs from her debut solo album "Simple Things". Chantelle's music is "soulful and organic with a hint of world flavor" featuring such instruments as the Hawaiian ukulele and the African djembe drum. With lyrics that demonstrate a down to earth-ness about real life experience and hooky melodies that emanate from her broad range of musical influences (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, Carole King, The Beatles, Jason Mraz, India Arie and Amos Lee to name a few) Chantelle is undoubtedly "an old soul with a new sound".

A native of Perth Western Australia, Chantelle Barry first caught the public's eye in 2000 when she won Australia's version of POPSTARS, earning a coveted spot in the all-girl pop group, Bardot. The group's debut single, "Poison", entered the ARIA Singles Chart at 1, where it spent two consecutive weeks, earning a double platinum certification. It became the sixth highest selling single in Australia in 2000, and was the highest selling single by an Australian act that year.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Chantelle has returned to her singer/songwriter roots and has just completed her debut solo album entitled 'Simple Things' which is now available via iTunes. Her songwriting efforts have garnered her a Top 5 Finalist in Songwriters Universe 'Song Of The Month' contest, a 3rd place win in the Song of the Year songwriting contest and helped her reach the finals in the Music Nation online music competition. Chantelle was also recently named 'Top 10 Band' in the 2009 Indie Music Assault to be held at Paramount studios later this year. Chantelle Barry has toured the local L.A. music scene for 2 years. As well as her residency at the highly acclaimed Genghis Cohen she performs at such venues as Hotel Cafe, The Viper Room, Rm 5 Lounge, Tangier, Saint Rocke, Cat Club and The Mint.

When she is not in the studio you can find Chantelle on both the big and small screens. She has stared in several independent feature films that are set to premiere late 2009 and has most recently appeared as a guest star on Entourage (HBO), How I Met Your Mother (CBS), and has a recurring guest role on 90210 (THE CW) as the Beverly Hills brat 'Nina'.
