Chaz. H. Scally
demo
I scored this for free at a PCYC show where Chaz. H. Scally played their first show. Basically the band is three members of Penrith ska-core band Titan Outfits with an added bassplayer. I think I actually prefer this band to Titan Outfits, it’s more melodic and rock/punk based, and they were tight live so this CD is actually a really good indication of what they sound like. There are four songs, the best of which is probably the opener “Attack in Progress”. There isn’t much else to say… the best bits are when they all sing for the big group vocals. I like it.

Attack in Progress
This is the debut album from Penrith’s premier ska-core outfit. Actually, you could probably even call them Sydney’s premier ska-core outfit, seeming as there aren’t really any other decent ‘ska-core’ bands around in Sydney at the moment. Anyway… this is a sharp and snappy album. Eleven great songs packed full of energy and enthusiasm – a real unbridled hybrid of poppy reggae/ska with dirty-sounding hardcore if you will (and I don’t mean poppy in a ‘happy & light’ way). I think my favourite tracks are ‘Attack in Progress’ and ‘You Don’t Own’… it’s not just about the lyrics and shouting with these guys either, there’s some really good rockin’ out bits to bust a move to too and some catchy lead guitar and yeah you should grab this album if you see it.
