Mach Pelican
July 13th 2006 04:38
Mach Pelican are a great Ramones-loving pop-punk band. They're instantly identifiable by being the most Japanese punk band in Australia and also by their matching leather jackets.

MACH PELICAN ARE...
K Rock - vocals, guitar
Toshi 8Beat - drums, backing vocals
Atsa Longrun - bass, backing vocals
Originally hailing from Japan, the three guys who make up the Pelican emigrated to Perth, Western Australia in 1996 or thereabouts to learn English. They formed the band in 1997 and played lots of local shows in Perth and scored supports with almost every biggish punk band that came there. In 1998 they relocated to Melbourne and have toured endlessly ever since. In the last 8 years they have played around 700 shows. They have played in Japan a few times, toured seven countries in Europe in 2004, and played a massive festival in Taiwan (also 2004).
They have appeared on Australian television a few times too, playing live on the Mick Molloy Show, the 10:30 Slot and Big Brother, as well as hosting Rage.
They most recently released their third album and are well-loved by almost everyone who's sees them (myself included!), they have really fun and energetic live shows.
