Peabody

Peabody are a Sydney indie/rock band who formed around 1995 (I assume this was the year, everywhere I look the same bio tells me that they formed ‘in the mid-90s fresh out of high school’) in Campsie.
They parted ways with their first drummer not too far into their years and got a drummer called Dave for a while, who was replaced by Graeme Trewin in 1999.
The lineup runs as thus at the moment…
Bruno Brayovic – vocals, guitar
Ben Chamie – bass, vocals
Graeme Trewin – drums
But Graeme has just left the band and they are currently looking for a new drummer, who will be their fourth.
Discography…
The Leo Sessions (demo) 1996
Hi-Cycle (EP) 1997
Rock, Girls and Computers (EP) 2000
Professional Againster (Album) 2002
Stupid Boy (single) 2003
Do You Wanna? (single) 2003
Got You on My Radar (single) 2004
The New Violence (Album) 2005
Hi-Cycle was released on late-90s indie record label Aristotle’s Box (run by Craig New, who also wrote for the Sydney street press at the time and for all I know, could still do). Peabody’s bio currently states that they released their first two EPs themselves but I’m not sure if that’s strictly true if Aristotle’s Box also claims to have released at least ‘Hi-Cycle’.
I think it's fair to say that Peabody have done the hard yards and deserve any and all kudos they get. I think 'Professional Againster' is a phenomenal album and should be appreciated by all. Peabody have toured all over Australia countless times and have played hundreds of shows in their ten years of gigging, including Homebake and the Big Day Out. They are currently signed to nonzero crecords.
