Here's a couple of bands from around Sydney, most are from the Western Sydney area cause that's my hood. Yo.
The Subverts

The Subverts are an anarcho/political crust/punk band. They aren't one of the Western Sydney bands I was talking about but I've seen them a few times now and they're getting pretty decent.

Des - drums
Des recently left the band and they are currently on the search for a new drummer. They recently recorded a demo.
Flame The Fire

Toongabbie-based hardcore! (For those of you wallowing outside of the west, this is a suburb near Blacktown).

and currently on the lookout for a new bassist. They currently have a fill in.
They've released a couple of demos. The recording on their myspace sounds pretty damn good.
Chinpoko

They had two singers at one point but have now streamlined down to one.
Headcheese

I saw Headcheese last night at the Lansdowne and they were pretty good. Fun, fast... mostly short songs with bass intros and cool stuff like that. I couldn't follow the vocals, but inspection of the booklet for their CD revealed some amusing song titles and lyrics.

They have a demo out, it has a lot of songs on it. I got one last night but I haven't listened to it yet.
Deathrider

Deathrider were a thrash/hardcore band from Western Sydney. They finished up this year, which was a shame, but I'm sure the members'll go rock out somewhere else. Two of Deathrider are also in Headcheese.
