The Drones are a dirty indie/rock four-piece band from Melbourne who have been plugging away now for about six years.
Some music...
Shark Fin Blues video for broadband - click to play, great song.
Shark Fin Blues video for dialup - click to play, still a great song
Miller's Daughter MP3 - right click and save, from their outtakes album.
The band formed in 2000 and I think they've kept the same lineup the whole time. Here's their lineup...
MEMBERS
Gareth Liddiard - vocals, guitar
Rui Pereira - guitar
Fiona Kitschin - bass
Mike Noga - drums
They took out the first AMP (Australian Music Prize) earlier this year and recieved a LOT of media coverage as a result... virtually every Australian newspaper covered it, as well as various websites and the ABC. They've spent a good portion of this year touring all over, and just got back from overseas recently after playing shows in Europe, the UK and America.
